BIPOC and Anxious: A Six Week Nervous System Regulation Workshop for Women and Femmes of Color

"The class description was accurate but the reality was so much more. Ruth poured her heart, experience and openness into the workshop. Her authenticity and vulnerability in sharing her own intentions was inspiring. The sound bath truly allowed time and space for integrating the experience. It is trite to claim that it was the perfect way to start an uncertain year, but it really is. I am now inspired, intentional and hopeful in what I can create in 2025. Thank you and Ruth for this amazing experience."

As a woman of color, navigating both this town and the larger world can often feel like a constant uphill climb. Stress and anxiety find their way into every corner of life—relationships, work, school, parenting—you name it. It’s like having uninvited guests disrupting your peace, leaving you just trying to get through the day without feeling overwhelmed. You may put on a brave face for friends, family, and coworkers, but inside, you're battling self-doubt, criticism, and the fear of failure. It's exhausting, and by the end of the day, you’re left drained with little energy for the things and people that bring you joy.

But here’s the thing: how you manage stress is like a dance between your mind and body. If you’ve been living in a constant state of stress without knowing how to address it, your system might be signaling “unsafe” all the time. And as a woman of color, your experience is unique—we understand that deeply. Your well-being deserves care and attention, and that’s exactly what this workshop is here to provide.

In this six-week workshop, you'll connect with others who are facing similar challenges, creating a space where you’ll feel understood, supported, and less alone in your experience. We’ll dive into meaningful conversations and practical tools to help you manage stress and anxiety. It’s time to prioritize your well-being.

Learning Outcomes

Recognize Your Anxiety: We’ll start by helping you identify activations of your anxiety, so you can better understand what’s happening and why. This foundational awareness is the first step toward meaningful change.

Regulate Your Anxiety: Next, we’ll dive into practical strategies to help you manage and reduce anxiety in your day-to-day life. No need to worry about technicalities—we’ll break everything down into clear, actionable steps that are easy to apply.

Build Your Personal Toolkit: You’ll learn how to develop a personalized set of tools and techniques that work best for you. Whether it's breathwork, mindfulness practices, or other resources, this toolkit will empower you to handle anxiety when it arises.

Resilience and Recovery: Finally, we’ll revisit the root causes of your anxiety, but with a focus on resilience. You'll learn how to bounce back from challenges, feeling stronger and more in control of your emotional responses.
